Introduction:
Islamic Architectural Heritage Research Cluster (ISArcH) is a research cluster in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) that established in 2013. ISArcH is proposing to conduct the First International Conference on Islamic Architectural Heritage 2017 (ISLAH 2017) on 21st – 22nd August 2017. The conference is intended to be the platform where participants exchange and share their views on various topics related to Islamic architectural and built environment heritage. The theme proposed for the inaugural ISLAH 2017 is ‘The Splendor of Design & Technology in Built Environment’. This international event will gather a network of experts in heritage architecture that deals with issues of governance, environmental, social, cultural, technology, sustainability and design innovations. Speakers and participants will include administrators, academician, researchers, practitioners and specialized institutions to share knowledge and experiences in the Islamic architectural and built environment heritage.
The event will be organized by ISArcH, IIUM in collaboration with Department of Architecture, IIUM; Department of National Heritage Malaysia and Faculty of Architecture & Design, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University, Istanbul.
